Bord

Terms of Service

Last updated September 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of Bord. They are written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything below contradicts how the app actually behaves, treat it as a bug and email the address at the bottom.

1. What Bord is

Bord is an editorial product. Bord generates AI-authored commentary on your financial situation. Bord reads structured data you have authorized Bord to receive (via Plaid) and produces commentary on it. Bord is not human, is not a registered financial adviser, and does not have a fiduciary relationship with you.

Bord is delivered as a subscription service. Subscription terms are described in Section 4 (Billing).

Bord is operated by Bord LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company. “Bord”, “we”, “us”, and “our” in these terms mean Bord LLC. Bord LLC operates the bordmoney.com and bord.money domains and publishes the Bord iOS application.

2. Commentary, not personalized advice

Bord operates under what is sometimes called a “Path A” commentary frame. Bord publishes editorial perspectives on the financial scenarios visible in your data. Bord does not provide personalized investment advice, securities recommendations, allocation recommendations, tax advice, legal advice, or any other advice that requires professional licensure. Bord is not registered as an investment adviser with the SEC or any state, and nothing Bord says should be construed as recommending any specific security, transaction, account action, or financial decision.

Bord will sometimes name trade-offs, cite historical cohort data, and frame the structural questions behind a decision. Bord will not tell you what to do. Any decision you make about your money, investing, saving, borrowing, prepaying, allocating, transacting, is your decision, made on your own evaluation of your circumstances and, where appropriate, with a licensed professional.

If you read Bord's reply and feel it has crossed from commentary into personalized advice, for example, by telling you to buy or sell a specific security, to time a specific transaction, or to take a specific account action, please email the address in Section 13 (Contact). That is a bug in our content discipline, not a service we are providing.

3. Text messages

Bord is a personal-finance assistant you can text. A conversation starts when you message Bord; we do not send you a first message. Once a conversation exists, Bord answers what you ask and may send occasional messages about your own accounts, such as a heads-up when a bill is coming or a subscription charge changes.

How often that happens depends on your activity and your accounts, so there is no fixed number. Message and data rates may apply.

Payment links. If you ask Bord to pay or request money from someone, Bord may text you a link that opens Venmo or Cash App with the recipient, amount and note filled in. You complete the payment yourself, inside that app, under its terms. On this rail Bord never holds, sends or receives funds, never has your Venmo or Cash App login, and cannot see whether the payment happened. Check the recipient and amount before you confirm, exactly as you would for any payment you type yourself.

Bank transfers. If you enable bank transfers, payments by text are provided by Natural (natural.com) and its partner bank, Column N.A. You open an account with Natural, verify your identity with them, link your bank with them and set your own per-send limit with them, under their terms. Bord sends only the instructions you confirm, within the limit you set: every send is read back to you with the exact amount and the recipient, and nothing moves until you say yes or approve it with Face ID or Touch ID. Bord never holds your funds and cannot move money without your yes. Reversals, error resolution and disputes are handled by Natural under its agreement with you.

Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Messages travel over networks we do not control, so we cannot promise every message arrives or arrives on time.

4. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of a jurisdiction where Bord is offered to use the service. By creating an account you represent that you meet these requirements. Identity is handled by our authentication provider (Clerk); the account you create with Clerk is the account you log in with on Bord.

Access to the service may be limited or staged at our discretion, for example while we scale capacity in a new region. If your access is paused for any operational reason, your account and data remain intact until you direct us to delete them.

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for any activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email the address in Section 13.

5. Billing

Subscription prices, intervals, and tiers are displayed at the point of purchase and live in source code as the canonical figures (see /about/promises). Prices are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise noted, are billed via Stripe, and are subject to applicable taxes.

Free trial. If your plan includes a free trial, you may cancel during the trial period without being charged. The renewal price and trial length are stated on the plan screen before you start, the renewal date and price appear in your App Store or web subscription settings for the full duration of the trial.

Renewals. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from Settings → Plan inside the app, or by writing to the address in Section 13. Cancellation stops future charges; you retain access through the end of the period you have already paid for.

Refunds. We honor refund requests routed through the contact address in Section 13 under the conditions stated on /about/promises. Disputes raised through your card issuer or bank are processed via Stripe; we may suspend your subscription while a dispute is open.

Price changes. If we change a subscription price, we will notify you in-app and by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect on your subscription. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price; you may cancel before the effective date without being charged at the new rate.

6. Your data

Bord collects, stores, and processes data about you to provide the service. The specifics, what we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and how long we keep it, are described in our Privacy Policy.

Plaid. To provide financial answers, we ask you to link a financial institution via Plaid. Plaid is a third-party data-aggregation provider; their terms govern the data they collect on our behalf, and we encrypt the access tokens Plaid issues to us at rest. You may disconnect Plaid at any time from Settings, which both deletes the access token from our systems and instructs Plaid to revoke the connection on their side.

Stripe. Payment information is handled by Stripe and is not stored on Bord's servers. We retain the Stripe customer ID and the subscription/invoice records necessary to provide the service.

AI model providers. Bord uses large language models operated by third-party model providers (currently OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and Groq, the frontier AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy; the roster is subject to change). The prompts and contextual data sent to those providers may include de-identified facts about your situation. We never send your name, account numbers, raw transaction descriptions, or other identifying details into the model context; we send structured summaries described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract Bord's system prompts, configuration, or model parameters; (b) use the service to develop a competing product; (c) scrape, crawl, or harvest the service or any data it produces; (d) misrepresent your identity to obtain beta access; (e) use the service for any unlawful purpose; (f) attempt to defeat rate limits, authentication, or other access controls; (g) submit content via the composer that is illegal, infringing, or abusive.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice and without refund for the unused portion of a paid period if the conduct constitutes a material breach. For non-material violations we will normally reach out first.

8. Intellectual property

Bord, the system prompts, the editorial standards, and the underlying software are owned by us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for the duration of your subscription.

Your data. You retain ownership of any content you provide (composer posts, profile inputs, financial data fetched on your behalf). You grant us a license to process that content as necessary to provide the service. We do not use your personal content to train the AI models; see the Privacy Policy for specifics.

AI outputs. Bord's replies are generated by AI from your data and the editorial system; you may screenshot, quote, and share them for personal and non-commercial purposes. Commercial republication, including ad-supported aggregation, paid newsletters, or training of competing models, is not permitted.

9. Service availability

Bord is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not offer a service-level commitment; outages, latency, and feature changes can happen as the product matures. We will communicate planned downtime when we can and acknowledge unplanned outages through in-app or email channels.

We may add, remove, or change features at any time. Where a change materially reduces what your paid subscription gives you, you may cancel for a pro-rated refund of the current billing period.

10. Disclaimers

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. THE VOICES PRODUCE EDITORIAL COMMENTARY; THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO BE CORRECT, CURRENT, OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR SITUATION. NOTHING IN THE SERVICE CONSTITUTES INVESTMENT, LEGAL, TAX, OR OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE.

Third-party services on which Bord relies, Plaid, Stripe, Clerk, the model providers, may experience their own outages or errors. We are not responsible for the consequences of failures or errors originating in those services beyond our reasonable efforts to design around them.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE LIABILITY. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, OR DATA, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time from Settings or by writing to the address in Section 13. We may terminate or suspend your account for material breach of these terms, for non-payment, or because we are no longer offering the service. On termination, your access ends and we delete your data on the schedule described in the Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature survive termination (Intellectual Property, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Disputes) do survive.

13. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in North Carolina for any dispute that is not subject to arbitration.

Informal resolution first. Before filing any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at the address in Section 13 and give us 30 days to resolve the dispute informally. Most disputes that have arisen with us have been resolved at this step.

14. Modifications

We may modify these terms. When we do, we will post the updated version at /terms and update the “Last updated” date below. Material changes will also be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept the modified terms you may cancel your subscription before the effective date and we will not charge you under the new terms.

15. Contact

Questions, refund requests, security reports, and disputes: justineyoo2005@gmail.com. We read everything sent to this address. Refund and security messages are answered by a person, not an auto-reply.
