Messaging Consent

Last updated October 10, 2026

Bord texts you about your own money, and only because you asked it to. This page is our record of how you agree to that, and how to stop.

The short version

Bord texts you about your own money, and only after you text Bord first. Reply STOP to any message and the texts stop right away. Nothing else about your account changes when you do.

We never buy, rent or import phone numbers, and we never text a number that hasn't texted us first.

How you opt in

After you create a Bord account and verify your phone number, the Messages setup screen in the Bord app or on bordmoney.com offers to start a conversation. Tapping Open Messages opens your Messages app with a short first message ready to go, like “Hey Bord, I'm ready to fix my finances!”. Right beside that button, the screen says:

By sending this text, you agree to get automated texts from Bord about your accounts. Not required to buy. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.

Nothing is sent until you tap Send yourself. That first message starts the conversation and confirms the number is yours. On a computer without Messages, the screen shows Bord's number and the same message to send from your phone. You can also text Bord's number directly, for example from a link on our website. Either way, we record your consent, how you gave it and when.

Texting Bord is optional. You can use Bord in the app or on the web without ever turning on texts.

What we send

Replies to the questions you text us about your own money, like whether a purchase fits your budget this month.

Heads-ups about your own accounts: a bill coming due, a subscription renewing or getting more expensive, or spending worth knowing about. We may also text you about your Bord subscription, like a trial that's about to end.

Nothing else. We never send ads or offers for other companies. How often we text depends on your accounts and how much you use Bord. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any message. We'll send one confirmation and then stop texting that number. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, OPTOUT and “stop texting me” work too, and we check for them before anything else reads your message. CANCEL, END and QUIT also stop texts, except while Bord is waiting on your answer to a question (like confirming a payment), when they answer it with no. STOP always stops.

Stopping texts doesn't cancel your subscription, close your account or disconnect your bank. It only stops the texts.

Reply START to turn texts back on. Reply HELP for help, or AGENT to reach a person (9am to 6pm Eastern, Monday to Friday). You can also email help@bord.money.

Who is texting you

Bord LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company that runs bordmoney.com and bord.money and publishes the Bord iPhone app.

Messages reach you through Sendblue for iMessage and Twilio for SMS. They see your phone number and the messages we exchange, and they can't use either for their own marketing. Sendblue is not Apple, and iMessages from Bord aren't an Apple product.

Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your privacy

We don't share your phone number or your consent to receive texts with anyone for their own marketing. Your messages with Bord are kept while your account exists, and deleting your account deletes them. Our Privacy Policy has the full details, including a section on text messages.
